Just wanted to give you a peek at my newly painted dining room. It’s a work in progress…in between swimming and all our other summer activities. Remember what it used to look like?
I’m not completely finished…and I’m so lame I forgot to take a picture of the table before painting it. So here is a picture of one of the other chairs I haven’t finished yet.
And, yes, that is a matching buffet behind the chair. I’m pretty positive it’s antique…and yes I’m spray painting it all black. Don’t judge. I like PAINTED wood! And how about that seat cover? I covered the two end chairs in zebra fabric. I only had enough for those two. I’m thinkin’ about covering the other four in painter’s drop cloth and doing freezer art on the seats of some scrolly numbers or maybe our monogram??? I don’t know yet. I’m just trying to use what I have. I did sell a bunch of furniture and some homeschool stuff to buy the dining set off craigslist. I painted the bottom of the dining room white and the top “Ocean Dream”…both from Lowes. This is my new favorite color. It is a gray-blue. I’m in love with it! Hope you’re enjoying your summer!
Love the paint color! And the chairs look amazing. 🙂 My Wal*Mart also has zebra print fabric, but it's still four dollars a yard. But you can use JoAnn's coupons there…

So beautiful! Great job!
I really like how it's turning out. Beautiful!!
Your table turned out great! I love redoing furniture, and I am not one afraid to paint wood! I love painting wood color~antique or not. Paint can always be removed and stain added back again. Love how this turned out!
Hugs to you,

I LOVE it. I think painted wood is fabulous.
I love the colors of your dining room. I just redid my bathroom with a similar blue, white sinks, and a slate colored countertop – oh, and etched/frosted glass accessories.
What is freezer art? It sounds intriguing.
Keep up the good work!
looks great! Cant wait to see the finished pix! Your home looks beautiful. Or at least judging from the dining room! ha

Just found your blog….LOVE the new color… the painted wood (I have black dining room chairs too!) and LOOOVE the zebra!
Awesome fabric! I know it is going to be beautiful. I want to tell you how wonderful I think it is that you rescued Allie instead of buying from a pet store or breeder. I hope she is adjusting to being a member of your family. She is just adorable!
Holy Moly!!!!!!!! This looks great. I love the walls, so much more inviting than the before pics. and that zebra print on the chairs is FUN! Love what you've done.
I have enjoyed your blog. I am one of those that that followed your tutorial on slipcovers and did 2 chairs, thank you for giving me confidence:)
