Today I’m celebrating…

saving a life…

Meet the newest member of our family…Allie. We saved her from the animal shelter. We think she was abused by a man. She’s petrified of my husband. She is a sweetie girl that we have all fallen in love with. She’s learning to trust and love once again. Go check out Chatting at the Sky’s Tuesday Celebration to see what other’s are celebrating today.

  1. you will unwrap that gift over and over , as she warms to you , you to her, and you bask in watching how nurturing your kids are with her.

  2. Congratulations to you and your sweet girl! We rescued an abused and neglected adult dog who we adored. It took LOTS of time, patience, training, love and discipline and more patience to get him to a point where he could trust people again and be able to live a mostly stable, healthy life but what a gift he was to us! Wishing you the best of luck and lots of patience with your girl. She's so lucky to get a 2nd chance with a loving family this time around.

  3. Oh! A beagle! We have a beagle named Snickers. So much love packaged into a little dog body.

I LOVE a hound dog. Bless you for rescuing one!

  4. Good for you! Our rescue dog, Gumbo, was also (we think) beaten and definitely neglected. He has been with us for almost two years now and is TRULY the best dog EVER! He is obviously thankful to be in our famiy! 😀

    Good luck!

  6. Yay! Congratulations on your beautiful new addition to your family! Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing a shelter dog! There is a special place in heaven for people who rescue.

  7. Give her time and give her love. There is an EXCELLENT book, The Secondhand Dog, that will walk you through all of the steps that your darling will experience now that she is in her fur-ever home. You will LOVE this book!
