Beach Thrifting
This is our last week of summer before school starts next week…so we took a trip to the beach for the day to squeeze out the last moments before it disappears. We spent all day at the beach, then went to K38 for dinner. Lastly we hit goodwill before heading home. My daughter said, “Beach Thrift stores are the BEST!” She’s right. I scored this ship. I’ve been looking and looking. I may paint it white…like everything else??
See the 4 shades of gray on my pukey pea green wall. It’s a little challenging finding the perfect gray. I have:
-Pearl Gray by Martha Stewart
-Seagull Gray from Seaside collection
-Dolphin Fin from Seaside collection
-A mix of Pearl Gray, Seagull Gray and Dolphin Fin…i think I like the mix.
All these colors are from Lowe’s Home Improvement. Are you as in love with gray as I am right now? It is the new beige, right?
I do love gray! Especially with a pop of yellow here and there!!
Yep, absolutely right about the thrift stores at the beach. The best stuff is found there.

I am having my living room painted gray this week! I picked greyish by Sherwin Williams. I'm a little worried that it may turn out too light-fingers crossed…
We're an hour from Myrtle and I haven't hit any thrift stores over there. Driven by a bunch but haven't stoppped. Maybe I should!
great find! it would look awesome in white, especially against a new grey wall 🙂
Love the ship! I think it would look great in white. I think when it comes to grey on the walls, I would err on the lighter side. Too dark could get too shadowy. Just my opinion.
Yes, gray is the best and I have you to thank for my obsession with it. If you paint the ship, leave the sails… I like the tea-stained look of them.
I actually like the ship the way it is…but I would be tempted to paint it too 🙂 We're close to K38 now. We just moved here last month. We could do lunch or a thrifting spree the next time you're in town! I've been lurking to see what you've done with your new house. LOVE IT!! Oh, and I totally agree with you on gray 🙂

Just had to say that I recently painted my son's room in the “Dolphin Fin” and love it so much that I intend to paint my own bedroom the same color! It's beautiful!
Gray is definitely the new beige! I just absolutely love it, but choosing the perfect shade is TOTALLY challenging. Good luck.

Yes! Gray IS the new neutral out there. I jumped on this bandwagon about two years ago when I painted my master bedroom a soothing gray and my husband and I adored it! Even the fashion world is buying into our love of gray, it's in all the magazines and was on the Today Show this morning for fall fashion.
