I sooo love sewing

I loved being at Blissdom, but I could not wait to get home and re-acquaint myself with my better half. My sewing machine. She does not judge. She does not yell. She is not impatient. She loves me and waits for me and we make beautiful creations together. I love her and want to spend time with her…always. We’ve been busy making stuff. Like these tote bags. I will be updating my shop…oh so soon!

I parted with my friend to go have lunch with this cutie patootie. We ate some unknown meat sandwich. I loaded mine with lettuce, pickles and as much mayo and mustard as I could stand. She eats 2 bites and asks if I have any chocolate. I scrounge up one of those yummy bliss chocolates from the bottom of my purse. She is happy. So am I. As long as she wants me to eat lunch with her, I will. I picture myself going into the High School to eat lunch with her. I think she would NEVER be embarrassed. It’s who she is.

  1. Love it! 🙂

My mom came to my high school to eat lunch with me (and bring rice crispy treats on my birthday)…I couldn't have been happier! Still one of my favorite memories!

  2. I know that story all too well!!!
My youngest daughter is that way.
She is never to embarassed to be with me.
She will probably still ask me to bring McDonald's and sit with her at lunch in high school as well.

  3. I love sewing as well!! If I could be locked in a room with my sewing machine it would not bother me a bit! That is so sweet you had lunch with your daughter at school! I am going to a Valentine's Day program (???) today at my daughter's preschool!! Have a great day.

  4. So…here's the dish. I got home from BlissDom… kissed the fam…. threw in a load of laundry…and went to the craft room. AHHHHHHHH…it was bliss!

  5. I love the bags too. I went to my oldest boys school for lunch this year. I went home and showered myself w/ sculding hot water…just felt germy. 🙂 That is sweet that she's the type to allow you to have lunch even in High School. I think my days are numbered.

  6. The key to those years that teens tend to be embarrassed to be seen with their parents is – never stop being involved with their school. You become part of the landscape 😉 and they never really notice any difference. Does that make sense?

Also, always travel under the radar. Parents who call attention to themselves in those situations are doomed to be put on house arrest 😉

  7. I wish I could sew! I'm glad you have your little friend….and your daughter who loves you to eat lunch with her. But most of all I love that you do that with her…even if it means having mystery meat and sharing your Bliss chocolates!

  8. Oh, those bags are AMAZING. I've got a new sewing machine coming today and I've been cleaning and organizing my studio like crazy. What kind of machine do you have?

I love eating lunch with my kiddos. Of course we homeschool, so I don't have much choice! ha ha But seriously, I have 2 young adults now and I'm so glad that I spent every bit of time with them that I could, including lunch. I think you should definitely go have lunch with her in High School. My mom and I did and I loved it. Now that's she's gone those are some very special memories.

  9. Hi Kristi, Thanks for letting me know that you wrote that tutorial. I guess my research was lacking. I added you as a source, I'm sorry I didn't. Know I know who to ask for when I totally mess up! =) lol
