Are you a taker downer or a keeper upper? I am a definite taker downer! Friday morning in my leopard slippers, I was outside taking down garland and lights in the brrrr cold. My living room is so teeny tiny that even my charlie brown christmas tree seemed to overtake it…so down it came. I know that some love to keep their lights up for New Year’s, but not I! I love taking down my tree as much as putting it up. Makes me feel ready for the New Year and what’s to come! I can’t wait for this New Year! So…what are you? A taker downer or a keeper upper?
I was always a keeper-upper, but this year I started taking everything down this morning. Your right, even a little christmas tree can make you feel too cluttered and the space feel small, so down it goes!
HMM…I dont fit either category well 🙂 I get way too overexcited and put everything up the day after Thanksgiving…then Im not so excited to take it down and it is taken down in layers….then it never gets properly put away either. I have snowmen up until January-February…and piles of taken down things around for awhile.
This year I had two little ones who decorated and undecorated the tree daily and a teenage boy who kept somehow vaccumming up the garland and spinning the tree..We celebrated Christmas on Wendnesday because of my husband's work schedule. I took the tree down that night until 3 am:) Did not make me popular but my small living room REALLY REALLY needed the room:)
I usually keep it up for a bit but today I took it all down… after our fire right before Christmas I needed a good clean sweep!!
Hope your Christmas was Merry!!
I'm a partial taker-downer. I take down the knickknacks but the tree stays up a little while.
In past years I've always been a taker downer, but this year we are in a larger home and I don't mind keeping things around a bit longer.
I'm definitely a taker-downer. That is what I am doing today. I'm almost finished. I love Christmas, but when it's over… it's over.
Well, I'm a keeper upper. I leave all the Christmas-y type stuff up until January 6th (Epiphany). Then I put away all Christmas related things and keep out all my snowmen, penguins and snowflakes until mid-February as decorative items for the winter months. I guess I just love all my decorations too much to only look at them for a month!!
I'm a keeper upper. My mom always left it on until after new years. I also have small children and they love the tree. Although after the first , the tree is going down. Lol
It all came down today! I think I'm a taker downer because growing up my mom was and still is a keeper upper. I have to have my house back…but it was lovely to look at while it was all up. Hope you had a great Christmas!
taker-downer for sure!
There are very few blog posts that I actually remember, but as I was tearing apart all of my Christmas decorations and stuffing them in their bins I was thinking of this blog post from last year. Funny, huh?
I'm a taker downer… would have done it today but we were too busy! Actually I might go start dis-assembling the tree right now. 🙂
Well, normally I am a taker downer. I usually start on the day after Christmas but this year I was busy all day in my girls rooms cleaning and organizing and doing laundry so I haven't started yet. Not sure if I will do any tomorrow or wait until Monday but it will be down soon!
I'm a taker downer! Took down the Christmas tree today. Still have more work to do, but it's been started! Furniture is already back in place…
I'm usually a keeper-upper. I like for my girls to be able to enjoy everything as long as they can. I take it all down on New Years Day…but this year I feel ready to do it NOW! 😉
I'm definitely a keeper-upper. I put way too much work into trying {operative word!} to make the house full of Christmas cheer. I'll be taking it down sometime within the next two weeks. SOMETIME. : )
Opulently I to but I think the list inform should prepare more info then it has.
When I was a kid I always wanted the tree up as long as possible. But now, as soon as we got back from my grandma's day-after-Christmas dinner, I started taking down the decor. My fiance wants the tree up for at least another week. Urgh. I just want to do a thorough vacuuming, cleaning, re-decorating refresher! I'm ready for clean lines and fresh colors this January.
I am a keeper upper simply because we celebrate Christmas as a season not a day…meaning we keep things going until Epiphany because it's an important part of our tradition. That's the day we take it all down! 😉
TAKER-DOWNER! I am about to panick b/c I have 1 more box of decorations that I need my husband to take to the attic! Also, it had to come down because all of my flooring is coming up tomorrow! YIPPIE!

Totally a keeper-upper! It seems to take us so long to finally get everything just so, we hate to put it right away. Sometime in January it gets put away. (in fact- I just added a few more decor items yesterday!)
Definetely take down here….I love Christmas, everything goes up on the first, but it has to be down by New Years, because I cant bear tot ake the old year in to the new….so its normally the day after boxing day
I am a taker-downer, I love making the change. My husband is a leave-it-upper. Don't know when Christmas will be over at my house!
Amiable dispatch and this fill someone in on helped me alot in my college assignement. Thanks you as your information.
Taker downer. When it is over it is over! Time to move on and prep for New Year and colder weather
