My friend sent me a text…this is how it went:
friend: “i have a surprise for you!”
me: “ok“
friend: “don’t act so excited?”
me: “i’m jumping up and down, come on over.” (it was the day i decided to paint my kitchen…you know…2 days before thanksgiving…my kid’s were still in PJ’s and i had paintbrush in hand.)
friend: “we’ll come soon.”
So now my interest is peaked and I’m thinking, “What did she get me?” She walks in, tells me to close my eyes and pulls out this adorable wreath she just made! Yes, made! Isn’t it precious? She said, “I made it this morning while sitting on the couch with my kids. I used a wire clothes hanger and pliers to unravel and shape it. Then I wrapped garland around it.” Then she was on her way to Michael’s to find the most, perfect fat ribbon she could find…to hang it on her front door. She had seen one in Ballard Designs and wanted her very own! I love it! I love that I have a friend who is excited to pop over and show me her creativity..and doesn’t care that it’s mid-day, I have paint in my hair AND my kids are still in their PJ’s.
Love, love!! What a great friend. I immediately wanted one too when my Ballard came in. I had dreams of hanging one over a mirror I was going to buy off craigs list, but the dork stood me up! You’ll have to show us where you hang yours.>>-Hayley
The wreath is gorgeous! And that kind of friend that can drop in at any time and cares less about how messy your house is or that your kids (and you!) are still in your pj’s…..well that friend is priceless!>>Frannycakes
That is so cute!!! It will look even better with the big fat ribbon!!! Its on my craft list to make! 🙂
The wreath is adorable!!! What a great idea, I never could have thought to use a coat hanger as the base. >–Cheers, Amy>P.S. I just ordered my apron. Can’t wait to get it, I am so excited.
Oh wow! I love it, I need one now! : ) But I think a B would be impossible to try and make. Oh well.
I love how that turned out! I have been thinking about trying that project myself…thanks for posting such a great photo to get me motivated! 🙂>Carrie
I’m dreaming of a monogramed wreath…just like the one in the picture….>>yes i’m singing it in my mind. >>LOVELY!
I have a friend like that too. There’s nothing like it. 🙂
Thanks – Now I have yet another project to add to my list!

Friendships like that are so special! I am wanting to make one too! So cool!!!
Oh, super idea! Now I know what to get (or make for) my girlfriends for Christmas — I think i’ll put some decorations on mine too…
Oh my! Ive got to have one! 🙂 What a sweet gift!
That’s adorable! You people and your wreaths and garlands. I’m just in awe.
What a great do it yourself idea! I have seen them in Ballard, way too pricey!
I am so very new to this blog-hopping thing, but I randomly found your blog (by clicking on links, and clicking, and clicking) and I stumbled across yours! What a gift, too! Because I also received the Ballards catalog (I have no idea how) and had decided to spend my precious “allowance” on the monogrammed wreath. I canNOT wait to make my own instead! I hope you don't mind, I've bookmarked your blog for more creative projects.
made one after seeing yours! only mine is sheet moss and cardboard…. will post a pic on my blog later…great idea!!!
