This time of the year always makes me miss my Aunt Pearl…even more than I already do. See, she and I would stay at my house to pass out candy to all the trick or treater’s while my husband went with the girl’s to collect free candy from stranger’s around the neighborhood. I miss hanging out with her. I would usually make snack’s to have at the house pre-halloween and she and I would sit around anxiously waiting for the dressed up folk to come to the door begging for candy. She loved it and so did I. I miss her. Last year I was so discombobulated…and I couldn’t figure out why. It’s because she wasn’t here with me to pass out candy. So I ended up walking around with my husband and the girl’s…which was fine…but I missed my Aunt Pearl. She passed away a year and a half ago. She was 94. Her mantra was to “Eat dessert first.” So eat your dessert first today!
Oh how sweet, I wish I had an Aunt Pearl! How wonderful you were able to have this time with a fun relative. Happy Fall to you. Hope this year is just full of sweet memories.

What a sweet memory. I had a very beloved Aunt Pearl too.
Do you follow QuiltingMuriel on Twitter? Maybe she can help fill the void. Ninety-three(four?) and hilarious!!! There's something about the wisdom of an nonogenerian.
