New Kitchen Pendant Lights from IKEA.

I still want to do something to my countertops?? Which is not at the top of the list unless someone wants to donate some countertops? Anyone? I’m thinking about painting the barstools white or making slipcovers for them. What do yall think I should do?

I love those lights-so cute!! I wish we had a Ikea in Nashville!!!
Love those lights they look great. I have those exact stools in my craft room. I am thinking of painting them white and making linen (looking) stool covers.
On the countertops..have you checked into the butcher block at Ikea? We used them and they are quite affordable and look great.
Crazy, I was just looking at kitchen lights online. We are remodeling our kitchen, and I haven't really checked out new lighting yet. I just love your look. I am trying to decide on hanging a pot rack over my island (it's not in the center of the kitchen, but over to the side). I discovered that some pot racks have lights in them-so cool! Another thing to decide on…
Painting the counter stools white is a good option. Another option that I think would work is painting them with a satin nickel. The lights look fabulous!
Paint. the. countertops. seriously! I did it, blogged about it twice & whenever my husband and I look at houses for sale online I look for the ones with ugly countertops because I SO want to do it again!! It is so much fun, easy, and CHEAP but looks FANTASTIC when it is done!! 🙂
i have been waiting for this post! omgosh- coveting those lights!!! and….i like the barstools black. it adds a punch of black to your kitch. xoxo-t
LOVE the lights! Thanks for letting me bug you today 🙂
The lights make quite the transformation! I like the stools black. It's all a wonderful look. (And from the picture, I thought your countertops were granite, seriously.)
LOVE the new the lights. They look awesome!!
The lights look great! What did you have to do to replace the florescent light? It's a project I'd like to do.
Thanks!
Beth
i saw an article in a magazine where they had stools just like that and they painted with metallic silver paint (think it might have been in better homes and gardens recently) they looked seriously great. just like funky industrial metal stools.
I don't know if you have a habitat for humanity restore near you, but my husband and I were able to remodel our kitchen with a lot of things we found at the restore.
I love those! I am looking to put some pendants in my kitchen and am having the hardest time deciding what to put in. Love it!
XOXO

Your new lights look fantastic! Love your kitchen! I think your stools would be cute painted. I've got the same ones in white which I like but a colour might be fun too!
Beth,
My husband took down the UFO light and there were no junction boxes to hold the pendant lights. There were just holes in the ceiling…hence the call to an electrician.
I LOVE the new lighting! I want new lights too. I know it would make a world of difference in my kitchen.
As far as your cabinets, have you seen the new countertop paint? I painted mine a few months ago and they REALLY hold up to the abuse! You could take several colors and really make it look like marble. This paint is AWESOME!
I'm going to try and post the link to my post about my counters when I painted them. My kitchen doesn't look nearly as good as yours, but I think the paint could give you an affordable solution to your countertops until you can buy the ones you want.

paint the stools a different color each (like pink, yellow, turquoise) and distress them. your counter would look great as a butcher block as someone else mentioned. it would go with the feel of your house so well!
LOVE the lights! Just changing your island countertop would make a big impact – someone else mentioned Ikea butcher block or you can make a country table look with cheap white pine 2x4s and a piece of plywood (not sure how that would work around your sink though). What about bright spring green on the stools?
Super cute! Nice work!
