Giving up caffeine

I love you with all my heart. You are not good for me…even though we’ve had a secret love affair for years. You are my best friend and my confidant. I look forward to getting up…only because I know you’re there waiting for me. I am sad we must end our affair. I was dreaming about you last night. But after you left yesterday and I had a headache for about 5 HOURS… I knew…you were not good for me. We’ve parted before in the past and I returned begging you to take me back. Maybe in my weakness, I will call you again. Oh, how I hate to leave you. But it must be done.

I have a suggestion. My friend gave it up gradually. She mixed half caffeine/half decaf for a little while and gradually changed the formula until she was all decaf. NOT ONE HEADACHE…and she was a 25 year coffee drinker. Now she still looks forward to her coffee every morning…and it's all decaf! Have you thought about doing that?
I gave up caffeine at Christmas. The first few weeks are tough but it's so worth it. I feel better now and am actually losing a little bit of weight. My caffeine of choice though was Coke and not coffee. Good luck in your endeavor. I wish you well and also I wish you to not get those caffeine headaches anymore. I haven't had one since I gave it up!

oh, this will be hard!! I have done this myself and I miss it, but I feel so much better!! I still have it from time to time, but not like I used to!! GOOD LUCK!!
LOL – I love it! I only wish I had the strength that you do. Caffeine AND sugar are my weaknesses not matter how they come. Maybe someday I will look to you for encouragement. Until then…I'm going to make myself a second cup!! Good luck!!

Good for you. Caffeine is no good. Yes it gives us that pick me up but you can do it! Reminds me of all the 'spring cleaning' /changes I'm making.
It is so hard giving up things we love. We stopped buying sodas at our house.
I gave up bread for lent and I'm about to die. I love bread!
I parted ways with my bff diet coke on Jan 3rd….:) It CAN BE DONE and its worth it! Go for it!

Hee, hee!! I have the same feelings, but with Dr. Pepper. My love for it is quite visible and it ain't perty. Oh, making your White Trash Dip tonight. Can't wait to taste it. Though reading that post did remind me of that part on RV when those white trash guys said something about going and getting tortilla chips-the said it with the “L” sound not “ya”. Hilarious!!
