Seller’s Remorse: ,noun. ~ one who sells and has deep painful regret for the wrongdoing.
Old Farm Table I found under an old man’s shed. He gave it to me for $40 bucks. I painted it white. I loved that table and the only reason I sold it was because every time my kid’s would color, draw or write, their crayons would go through the plank cracks. We were homeschooling then. We’re not now. Oh, how I wish I had that table again…seller’s remorse.
This is a coffee table I found all beat up at a thrift store for $20 bucks. I also painted it white. Love it! The sides fold down and extend out. I’m still not sure why I sold that table. It boggles the mind sometimes. Seller’s Remorse.
I also sold an antique armoire that I can’t even find a picture of. It’s just as well…then I won’t be able to see how beautiful it once was. Seller’s Remorse.
Have you ever sold anything and had deep, painful regret for the wrongdoing? It’s called seller’s remorse. What did you sell?
Oh no. . . those are great pieces! Rats.
That farm table is sweet, I would definitely be missing that. I've lost things I wish I had back, but I don't think I've ever sold anything I wanted back.
p.s. sweet new header – very chic!
No seller's remorse. Lots of buyer's remorse, but no seller's. I'm sure my husband would like for it to be the other way around. I'm having sympathy seller's remorse for you over that farm table though.
I had an old Canon Rebel film SLR camera. I sold it on ebay to buy a new digital camera. I have regretted it ever since. I have enjoyed my new camera, but for prints, the picture quality doesn't compare to the old film camera. Sigh.
I had a touch of it after I sold a 5×8 Pottery Barn wool rug. It was my first big rug purchase in our new house and it didn't fit the space or decor anymore. I shed a few tears about selling it because of the memories. I was so excited when I got it.
But I'm over it now. 🙂
OH honey yes. Buyer's and Seller's remorse. But if I let myself dwell on it, I go NUTS. and I can do that very well with other issues 😉 haha. So when I catch myself in that abyss, I just say – oh hell, I can't worry about that now. It's only stuff. Works sometimes.
Start looking for another one. You'll probably be able to find one!! Check Craig's List!! xoxo
Oh I love both tables! I can see your remorse…
I was given a pair of ugly barstool height director chairs by my father in law. I sold them for $10 at a garage sale because I was sick of them sitting in my storage room.
I am now starting art fairs and desperately need those chairs! I could have painted them up fun and funky…and alas…cannot find any at garage sales or stores to save my life. 🙁 Kicking myself daily over that.
I had the MOST gorgeous rug from Home Goods EVER that I sold. SHOULD have saved. I also had a unique piece the I put newspaper scraps all over and sealed it. It was super fun. I sold it in a fit of clutter rage at a garage sale for $5….UGH. and is that your porch? It's gorgeous…so is the furniture, may it RIP….
Sorry your having sellers remorse. So far I haven't sold any of my furniture. But, then again I really don't have a lot of it.
I love both of the tables.
I haven't sold things but have given them away and then wished I hadn't. Now I have some things in my basement that I'm just not sure if I want to let go or will I find a new life for them.
I love your pillows. They are great.

I can relate! Love the tables – just wondering how you achieved that white-washed look?
Kristin,
I have no rhyme or reason to it. I just slapped some white paint on with a paintbrush. I think the brush strokes give it the white washed look.
nice pieces, I can see why you miss them.
I have seller's remorse over the silliest things. When we had been married for just a few years we moved overseas – sold our stereo before we left. Now we're back and oh how I miss that ugly stereo – our kids have discovered records and i have nothing to play them on.
Buyer's Remorse… that I wasn't the one who bought that white farmers table from you! Dang it. Haven't said hi in awhile. Hope you're well!
Yes, at a tag sale (that's what it's called in Connecticut) over 20 years ago. It still bugs me. I went inside and somebody helping me sold an antique crocheted tablecloth for $8. I don't even know why it was out there to sell. Like I said, it still bugs me even though I've been on the other end of a deal many, many times. Yep, I love those tables of yours as well.
Yes! I do! As a matter of fact, I was thinking about it yesterday. I sold 2 wing back chairs that I got for FREE from my aunt. They were so cute & cozy. I'm still sad that I sold them.
I LOVE that farm table! I'd be having remorse too! unless I was the one that bought it from you of course. 🙂
Found your blog through Jen @ Tatertots & Jello. Love it!
I sell stuff all the time that I whish I could keep. There is only so much room in the inn!! The worst is being at a thrift store or yard sale and having to pass by something WONDERFUL..because you have TO MUCH wonderful at home!! Sigh…so much junk so little time!!
i sold a vintage dress form. oh what i would do to have it back!!!
Hey GF, so happy to meet you in Nashville! I think you're rooming w/Edie? She is a friend of mine …

I felt like I had too much fabric and sold some. Totally seller's remorse.
