Nothing I love more…than taking a brisk fall morning run. It invigorates the soul. To prepare for your fall run, make sure to wear jeans…because they are so flexible. Also, you need your Rainbow flip flops for running through the grass with the early morning dew still dripping…because it feels so good to your feet to be cold and wet in a pair of WET leather sandals! Then, just to mix things up a bit take a few dashes through the woods…all the while running through lovely spider webs. Also, don’t brush your hair or wear your sunglasses because your eyes will love the penetration of the sun so early in the morning. Then do this for about an hour around your 400 house neighborhood in the country. Oh, and don’t forget to trespass in all your neighbor’s yards…because they love being awakened by you as you call your dog’s name…loudly. Yes…do this and you will make lots of neighborhood friends! Allie still isn’t home. She’s gotten out before and has always come back…I will continue looking.
*EDITED* After 2 hours of exploring the neighborhood, Allie is safely home. And I have realized that I am out of shape!
Oh, UGH….been there done that. Beagles and dachsunds are good about running away to discover the world. 🙂

glad she came home.
I'm so glad that Allie is home and that everything is ok. It always scares me to death when my pups get lose. Hope your day gets better!

Glad Allie is home and you have your morning excercise out of the way.
She look so sweet laying there. Pups are a lot like toddlers huh?
I have one just like your Allie. Her name is Daisy. Beagles (**shakes head from side to side**).
XOXO
Oh, yes. I've done that too! Once I was 22 weeks pregnant and I slipped on the wet grass and landed right on my baby belly. My mother got the dog, thank God and helped me up. However 5 hours hooked up to monitors at the hospital was not the greatest way to spend your afternoon.
Hopefully, your day is going better.
So glad your Allie is safe and home! and my goodness that was so much fun to read! Too funny! Three positives: #1 you got your workout out of the way-possibly for the next week #2 it made a GREAT story #3 sweet Allie is o.k. and home!
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings!
Jill
I'm glad that you found Allie! And that she is safe. I know you must have been frantic.
Dogs are great…I have done that run before…usually in my pj's, slippers and no bra!
Glad she is home safe and sound!
Oh, the joys of owning a dog! 🙂 So glad she came home. Not counting Allie MIA, your post made me chuckle.
Oh my goodness. I read this entry with both trepidation (worried you hadn't found Allie) and the giggles (what a funny story)!
Perhaps I identified so well, because I have an “Allie” of my own – a two year old Beagle named Jersey whose favorite way to tease me is to run out the door when I least expect it. She never goes very far…just far enough away that I can't catch her! Ridiculous.
Don't ya just love it when that happens? We have one that does it all the time. Funny thing though is he is also the one with the most amount of training and an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen! Oh well, no matter how much we try to humanize them they are still really just dogs. Glad your little sweetie made it back home safe and sound 🙂 She's a cutie!
