I love a road trip…especially when it involves food, folks & fun! My friend and I drove to see those creative women at their show. First, I arrived late picking up my friend (she was standing in her yard waiting), then I forgot the directions and had to turn around to go get them. We missed an exit and had to turn around in the middle of one of those highway spots…that apparently only highway patrol are supposed to use. We also missed the street we were supposed to turn on. I told my friend, “We would not be able to do the amazing race together”. We were the blind leading the blind. But, we made it!
There was yummy food from Kendra at My first kitchen! She also hosted at her house and had “to die for” truffles plus more goodies! An adorable host!
We got to see Nester again & covet all her beautiful tassels (yes, we did come home with our very own)! I got to meet Emily at Chatting at the sky who is adorable and has a fat, mack daddy camera that I was lusting over! Go see her beautiful photos!
My tassel is of the eiffel tower and reminds me of this summer when my husband and I went to Paris for our anniversary!
Then I met June from Bye Bye Pie and I was starstruck! She is so cute and, yes, funny! I think I made a complete fool of myself when I met her. Lots of creative women with beautiful jewelry, stained glass & other whatnots. We had loads of fun!
Lastly, it is my eldest’s birthday today, so we are off to chuck e’ cheese to celebrate! In seven more years, she’ll be driving…time flies!
I just said the other day to my best friend, who needs a GPS system in their car. I guess that they would come in handy after all. I am sure that one of these days that I will be turning around somewhere, wishing I had one. *smiles* It sounds like ya’ll had a fabulous time!
I wish I would have been able to come. I live maybe 20 minutes from Kendra! I had family come in from out of town. Maybe next time!
Why am I touching some portion of my body in EVERY PICTURE of this event on EVERYONE’S BLOG ? We all have to meet again and you all have to hold my arms down. That phony pose has got to stop.>>And you certainly did not make a fool of yourself! You were nothing but charming! I loved meeting you!>>But give me that tassle. I have an Eiffel Tower tattoo. I love love love love love the Eiffel Tower. And you know I am scary if I have a tattoo. I can rough you up. That is, if I can ever stop gripping my own body parts and smiling fakily.
So great to meet you! And I laughed when I saw June touching herself ever so gracefully in this photo, too. So great. Again…LOVED meeting you, my new friend. Hope the birthday party was fun!
Looks like you had fun! I would have loved to have gone…but too far away (Missouri). Tell your daughter Happy Birthday! Today was mine as well…but I am much older…25 to be exact.>>Love your tassel!!!
How fun! I am having a “Girls’ Day Out” of my own this weekend. Traveling to Atlanta with two other girlfriends to see our Ultra Creative friend, Mary. Nothing like a little encouragement and therapy that comes with the fellowship of great girlfriends!>~audrey>http://www.madetoorganize.com
What fun to be with all these ladies!>-sandy toes
oh I would so much have loved to have been there >>Sarah
It sounds like you really put forth an effort to join us and we’re glad you did. We plan to be at the same place next year so maybe the directions will be more familiar! Happy Birthday to your daughter!
First of all, loved the magazine cover and table-re-do above. And second, I met Nester and Emily/Chatting at Blissdom and they truly are fabulous.>>I’ll be blog-stalking you now. 🙂
Hate me–how did I miss this post?>>I hope you are doing well. I think I’m gonna take my apron {that you made} with me to my sisters so I can wear it–even though I’m not cooking!
