Ok…seriously, I’m leaving for England in 6 days. NO I haven’t packed! I don’t even know why I’m on my computer right now. I thought I would be able to do my slipcover “how-to” post…sorry, it’s going to have to wait until I get home. I have about 49 thousand projects I want to do. Here are a couple of pics of things that NEED doin’…
This is from my Aunt Pearl…she is 92 and I grew up sitting & swinging on this under an old oak tree in her back yard when I was my daughter’s age. I love it & would love to have it professionally painted, but can’t so I’ll spray paint it white with some cute pillows…I haven’t even dusted off the pollen. It’s pitiful, I know.
My yucky floral green chair from craig’s list. I’m going to slipcover in white cotton duck. Why? Because solid colors don’t have to be matched up, like stripes & checks (I’m a lazy seamstress) and you can toss it in the wash with bleach…and it’s as good as new! I swear by white slipcovers…with kids!
Please go check out life with lulu to see her great chair re-cover using (I think) the iron-on vinyl & Mrs. B. to see how she made a handmade ottoman. It is to die for!
Also, this was cute & exactly how I had been feeling…over at chatting at the sky and how she exorcised the monster mommy! Check out her office re-do too!
I CANNOT WAIT to see your projects. I have done some very basic slip covering (ottoman, kids chair, etc), but not anything that size. I have been wanting to do our couch, but am afraid to try. I look forward to your tips!
Looking forward to seeing the transformation of these items.>>Racheal x
