This year is all about the kiddos. They decorated the tree. Begged to hang their own ornaments. Year’s prior, I’ve always wanted to have so much control over the decorating. Now that they’re 10 & 14, I let them do everything. I wished I would have let them do everything before.
My oldest wrote the quote on the chalkboard…”The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” ~Buddy The Elf. Best Christmas movie ever!
Christmas to me…is spending time with my family and friends. This was after the craft night. Everyone was filled up with sugar and pooped out.
And just in case you didn’t believe Santa was real…just ask Siri. Speaking of cookies…we’ll be doing our annual Christmas cookie making this weekend! Hope you have a Merry One!
Relinquishing control and letting your kids do it is soooo freeing – I know exactly how you feel!
You have the right idea, believe me, my kids are grown and I can do anything I want with the decorations, but I still coerce them into decorating the tree when they come to visit. Enjoy it while they are young, it is all too fleeting.
