Have you ever had painter’s remorse? And say to yourself, “Why didn’t I just leave well enough alone?” Yes” Me too!
I hate that I painted this gorgeous green dresser…gray! The great thing about paint is that…it can be sanded off or re-painted! Have you ever had painter’s remorse?
yes.. definitely. What color was the dresser and the mirror? I'm re doing my girls rooms and would love to know those 2 colors. It looked amazing. 🙂
Awe. Been there. I am repainting a desk right now and wonder if I should have kept well enough alone.
I hear ya! I went with a colour for our house that was totally out of the norm for me (and my comfort zone) and now I *hate* it! I am not looking forward to re-painting 🙁
I have this right now too! And with grey paint! I painted both our dressers grey…and they look so dark now. 🙁 So I think I'll be painting them white, but leave the drawer fronts grey because I still love the color. 🙂
Frequently, which explains why our dining room has been painted 4 times.
I painted my daughter's room a gorgeous blue at one house we lived in and loved it. Then when we moved into our current house, I wanted that color again, but this time in a stair well. Apparently when it's that bold of a color, you need plenty of windows and a wide space which is why it worked in my daughter's room before. It just makes everything look blue and really bad and dark in the stair well. Argh! I'm thinking if I add a stencil design, it might help tone it down some. I hope.
The green was pretty great! I noticed your curtains in the background at your kitchen table…have we seen those before? I'd love to get a closer look and know how you did them!

I love the green dresser! Are you going to paint it green again?
.. I have actually been thinking about this exact dresser..from an earlier post you did..for days now.
I have a 2nd hand store find on my patio waiting for some TLC and I'm thinking green is the color for it!
Unfortunately, I know all about it. I decided to go with darker woodwork and shutters and lighter walls when we built our house (6 years ago). Now I feel like I'm living in a cave. Just got an estimate for having the entire house (including ceiling and shutters) repainted – white trim and light walls. I could kick myself.
I wanted to paint my house… but now I'm confused with the shades.. Don't know whether to go for light or dark color shades.
I've had that happen once or twice. Which is why it has slightly put me off painting furniture in colours – I just know that I'll tire of it and want to repaint. White always works for me and I love adding colour in fabrics instead – much less work to change it!
Heather,
The green is a left over color called “Apple Green” from Lowes. The yellow was also a left over from my husband's corn hole project. He was doing ECU colors. I painted the frame and then glazed over it.
This sound interesting & off beat like…
Yes! I am currently painting a hutch that is working out real well- darn I wish I had left it! The boarding is that pressed board- and the paint isn't looking too good at this point :)!
Wow you are super clever i love your blog 😉
