Well…easy for me. My daughter painted this loverly owl painting and I only helped a little bit. I heart it and can’t wait to put it on my wall!

I started out by recycling an already painted canvas. I just slapped some turquoise paint on it…and sketched out an easy owl on a branch.
She did all the painting…I added a few highlights here and there and gave her a few tips. I will eventually get MY COW painting! Cheap and Easy! Go get your kids some canvases and let them PAINT!
So cute! Knobby knees & all 🙂
Love this! I have decorated my nursery in Owls what a cute idea. Might have to try this
I love this idea! That's great that your daughter is helping with your decor. Thanks for sharing this! She's quite talented with a paint brush.
That's priceless!

I am so glad to see I am not the only person who wants a cow painting! Her owl is adorable!
Oh My Gosh! I love, love, love it!! This is a great end of summer activity with the kids : ) Our own children's art is just the best! : )
This type of project inspire children that much.. I remember when I was a kid I used to paint the whole day…
She did a fantastic job! That would look GREAT on your wall! I too was bitten by the desire for a COW PAINTING! So I did what any DIY'r would do…(since large canvases are expensive!)I searched for the perfect huge frame because I wanted a BIG cow. Found one at a GoodWill with one of those cardboard-type pictures inside. I bought a small bottle of Gesso (helps paint have something to 'grip' to) (art dept. at Michaels) and mixed the Gesso with acrylic crafts paint for the background, let it dry then penciled in a rough sketch of a standing cow. If you have some type of projector..you could trace a cow onto the “canvas”. Then I painted away with just acrylic crafts paint and tried to copy a real looking cow. I looked at DOZENS of cows on the internet to try to make mine LOOK like a cow. And you know what?!? I LOVE MY COW! So much in fact that I have just finished cow #5. Yes…my kids think I have “lost it” since every trip to the Goodwill or a garage sale has me looking for another potential frame with something inside to 'paint over'. TRY IT! You will LOVE the results!
