By now, you must know…my favorite holiday is Halloween! Even though I LOVE Halloween, I take it all down the day after! D-O-N-E. …like after Christmas, I’m a taker downer! But only after I get back from the Halloween clearance at Target. I have a standing date with my girlfriend that consists of coffee {full caffeine} and Halloween Clearance. I’m done with all the little trinket stuff and knew I wanted the Big witch that talks and moves. I think she’s taller than me. Got her! Love her! And next year when I open my Halloween boxes, it will be like Christmas and we’ll all be so excited! My friend dubbed it our “Black Friday”…because we do not shop the day after Thanksgiving. I can’t do it. Sorry. I love my orange and black bins. They help me feel organized…and they are about to outnumber my Christmas boxes. I’m going to enjoy this month of autumn before Christmas decor…I can’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
What about you? When do you start decorating for Christmas?
This is exactly how I am spending my day except for the shopping. It will take me all day to take all my decorations down. I am the same about the Christmas decorations, well almost. I do put my children's trees in their bedrooms in the middle of November but they are not allowed to turn them on until the day after Thanksgiving and that is when the rest of the decorations come out too.
I usually hit the store today to get cheap items. I haven't so far today, though.
For Christmas, we usually decorate right after Thanksgiving. We take it all down IMMEDIATELY, too (the 26th). I just have to have my house in order. I'm picky!
I'm most definately a “taker downer” too. By the time the holiday (speaking of each holiday) gets here I am so over it and ready to take everything down and move on to the next one!
I want to see the big witch that talks and moves, she sounds cool…I usually take my stuff down the day after.
I will get the Halloween down this week, I will start putting the Christmas up the week before Thanksgiving. I know.. I know, I just have so much Christmas and I want it all done before Dec 1 that I have to put it up early. I don't take Christmas down until after the 1st. I like to enjoy the whole month of December to enjoy Christmas. I will also have almost all my shopping done before Thanksgiving.
I have to wait until after T-day. I'm lucky if I get my xmas up he 2nd week on Dec! But I keep my stuff up for a bit afterward. I am in no rush to yank down my tree. Unless it's dead!
I'm totally with you! I stopped in to Target (& walmart) this morning, then all of the spooky stuff got carefully tucked away in the big orange bins. I leave out the non-halloween fall type stuff through November. Then, on December first, it's Christmas time (not a day sooner). And, I totally shop on Black Friday. Crazy, I know.
I am a taker downer, too. In fact, I'm taking down my Halloween stuff tonight. 🙂 And we don't start with Christmas stuff until at least after turkey day.
I don't have a ton of Halloween decor, and most of it is breakable. With young kids, I skip the breakable and end up with just fall decor, which is great, because I leave that out until the day after Thanksgiving and then the Christmas stuff goes up. Christmas stuff stays up until right after New Year's.

Girl, I'm crazy about Christmas, so crazy that I sing Christmas songs throughout the year and sometimes pop in a Bing Crosby album in July. However, I start decorating for Christmas when I get back from Black Friday shopping {I love it, must do it}. And I enjoy it all the way through January sometimes! Yikes, I know, I'm one of ….those…people. Ha, but it's who I am and I love my husband for putting up with me.
I loved your Halloween decorations this year, they were so cute! I can't wait to see the witch next year. Have a great day!
.heather.
Christmas goes up the day/week after Thanksgiving and comes down New Year's Day/week!
What a great give-away! I would use the fabric to cover a super-comfy chair in our tv room. Everyone loves to sit in it, but it has definitely seen better days!
