This weekend, I went to the beach with my sister for much needed R & R. We went to see a Bon Jovi Tribute Band at The House of Blues. We ate {steak & lobster}. I slept until 10AM. We relaxed at the beach and did our mutual favorite thing…went thrifting. We couldn’t find any great places at first…just lots of consignment stores that were all VERY high priced. Finally I googled goodwill, we called them and B-lined straight over there. We only had about an hour, but we both walked out with something. Me…two powder blue pillow shams for $.99 cents.
See that orange sofa? It was only $5 dollars. It was a prime piece to slipcover! My sister drove, so I couldn’t load it into the back of her Honda Accord…I should have driven that huge earth destroyer of mine, so I could’ve loaded up on some furniture. I saw plenty of great furniture at Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity. What did you score while thrifting this weekend?
$5 for a sofa?! What a steal. The lines look perfect for a slipcover too, kind of Pottery Barn-esque. I have a few favorite places for deals. Sadly, the Goodwills and Salvation Armies in our area have been overtaken by the antique dealers who swoop in first thing in the morning and grab the good stuff. I overheard two very well dressed men in one the other day discussing it. One guy said he scouts out deals for a friend as a hobby. I wanted to butt in and say “What about us thrifty girls? Leave some of the good stuff for us!”
I really want that sofa for 5 dollars. I saw Bon Jovi in concert this weekend in Chicago. Awesome concert!
Ugh bdon't ya hate when you have to pass up a good deal like that, thats the ones I never forget about, lol, oh well next time you will have the right vehicle (;
Its a Honda – plenty of room for that sofa. Looks much like the “chair and a half” I got from freecycle.

I found two Ethan Allen foot stools – have to be about 50 years old (going by the dark avacado pleather covering them)…for….$2.00 each!! Ethan Allen stamped on the bottom and everything – that was my deal of the month. Plus a milk glass candlestick lamp for again, $2.00 – grand total – $6.00. Joy, joy!
i found an iron headboard that i've decided to spray paint organge. i can hardly wait! i also scored a vintage desk in the yummiest shade of blue and red for my son.

got an awesome mirror at my GW this past week… DRAMA. i love to thrift too! i added some wood accents, painted it, and then de-stressed it a little. i will post it soon! i know i would have fun thrifting at the beach! 😉
Found (for a friend, not me) a ginormous off white kitchen table with EIGHT chairs and a leaf. It's Pottery Barn inspired so she loved it. She already reupholstered the chairs with a gorgeous brown damask pattern fabric!
