I went thrifting with my favorite 2 girlies yesterday…then we went out to eat lunch. It’s amazing how much you appreciate those little things when you’ve been quarantined to your house for almost 2 weeks. At our first stop, I found this table and chairs for $38. Yes! Seriously!
My conversation with the owner:
Me: “you know that table and chairs back there for $38 dollars?”
Owner: “yes”
Me: “it’s only $38 dollars?”
Owner: “yes”
Me: “$38 dollars?”
Owner: “ummm yes”
Me: “wow! i’ll take it.” “i’ll have to go dump my kids off before i can load it into my big fat earth destroying suv.”
Owner: ” i’ll put a sold sign on it.”
Me: “i’ll be back.”
I totally didn’t need it, but it was $38 dollars! So I moved my rectangle dining table upstairs as a studio / sewing table. And I’m rearranging a bunch of other stuff. I’ll post about my studio as soon as it’s done!
I’m working on this today. Can anyone say hoarder’s intervention? There are so many projects in here that need to be done and I will not step foot into another thrift store until this garage is clean. I think.
To Do’s:
- slipcover set of clubchairs to sell
- refinish white dresser and chest of drawers to put in master
- paint pedestal table white and sell along with chairs
- husband to finish corn hole set
- chest of drawers to be painted a light gray for master
- door leaning to the right to be made into headboard for master
- ride my bike…sometime when it’s not 100 degrees and 200% humidity
- move elliptical machine to studio {it’s there, i just took this pic before it came in}
- organize paints and supplies
- misc…
Same thing is going on in my home…love the table and chairs what a fantastic deal!!!

I WISH I was that lucky! We currently have a tablecloth over our glass top, early 90s (??), bamboo legged table that my husband had in college 6 years ago. How do you get so lucky, girl?? I would kill for a table right now that is $50. Maybe that's my problem…I'm set on finding one for only $50. Ha! 🙂
Love the table. We're in the same area; were do you love to thrift shop? My most recent love is Guardian Angel in Fuquay. It's been there forever but I just started going and I love it. I also recently went into Theives Market in Raleigh and they have pretty cool stuff as well.
I hear ya! Such good intentions, but how could you pass up that steal? Looking forward to seeing your studio room.
I'm sure I wouldn't be able to resist either. Great find and great deal. I'm sure I'd be no help to you on your furniture addition problem. Just go with it.

I have the same problem as I sit here typing I have my old dining chairs lined up behind my sofa cause I found some awesome new ones for my table that I couldn't pass up because they were such a deal!! I won't mention all the other stuff I have because it was a bargain ): Great price on your new set, are you going to paint it?
OMG.. I LOVE that table.. lol n wonder you couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Just bought chairs similar to that with a white finish and natural seat from Haverty's. Let me tell you one chair was double the price of your whole set. Why can't I find bargains like that!
Rose Vine Cottage,
Absolutely, I'm going to paint it…white of course.
Teresa,
I love guardian thrift and family salvation on tryon.
Holly,
you poor dear, me heart is breaking! But on a positive note, your's is already white and i have to paint mine!
If you find a self help group, let me know. I'd like to join with you.
I cannot believe you bought that table and chairs for $38.00! Maybe you should start an intervention blog for furniture addicts! I think there are a lot of us!
Oh I wish you lived closer to me. I would buy that blue chair from you, lol. I got rid of my two lazy boys and need a comfy reading chair. Great deal on the table and chairs, btw.
Oh my, your garage looks like mine! I have sworn off Goodwill and yard sales too until I finish some projects. Hmmmm…wonder how long that will last….
That is one great buy. I'm so looking forward to seeing that set Kristified. LOVE it!!!
Oh my gosh! Where do you live that someone would give that dining set away for a mere $38?
