Drinking lots of this! I love that we’ve already “done” 28 days of school, although I’m really learning how to live a lifestyle of learning with my kids. We are an ecclectic…kinda…unschooling bunch. I’ve learned I can’t live in other’s constraining schedules. There has been lots of trial and error to figure out what works best for my kids and for me. I’m learning to love the process and loving that my kids are becoming more creative. Sometimes it’s hard, especially when I run into a fellow soccer mom who is roaming the aisles of Target by herself and she can actually think about what she’s buying instead of saying “no, you can’t have that with every other breathe.” I am seeing the fruits of who my children are. And seeing the benefits of having them home. Like Sammy Hagar said, “Right here, Right now, it’s good!”
Congrats on your success! We are finishing our third week, and it has had highs and lows, but I love it. I would love an invite to your homeschooling blog. My email is kristin@graceviolet.com.
…seeing the fruits of who your children are…oh, that is worth all the run-ins with fellow soccer moms in the world.
Sounds like you're doing pretty great! Finding what works for you & doin it – that's totally what I love about home schooling! And seeing what character qualities need work…that's another benefit altogether.>>Is there actually another Sammy Hagar lovin' home school mama out there?? Van Halen?? Love it. 🙂
I'm with you sister! I homeschool my 3rd grader and Kindergardener. We have 12 days under our belts so far! (You must have started in August) I'm following my local school schedule as close as i can, so my boys can still play with there neighbor friends when they have the day off. We shall see. I threw the towel in last year by the end of October! The biggest thing that is making school easier this year is our basement & school room remodel. We are accomplishing leaps and bounds more just by having a 'formal' school setting with seperation from the littler ones distractions. Gotta go, breaks over! >>Ambrea
I know that this is an old post….but I had to comment, because I can totally relate to all you wrote! Thanks for sharing that 🙂
